Passing

Life seems so fragile. My Uncle Mike passed away yesterday after battling bone cancer. He was in a lot of pain and it was sad for me to know that. I'm so thankful that he knew Jesus and had no doubt about his eternal life with God. This is the fourth year in a row that one of my relatives has died, first my Grandpa Gerry in 2007, Grandpa Avery in 2008, Grandma Ruth in 2009, and now Uncle Mike in 2010. It's hard to lose loved ones, but I'm so glad that we have the hope of being reunited with them some day. For now, I am put on this earth to share the message of Jesus and to help bring about the Kingdom of Heaven which is now and not yet. It is a high calling, and one I am able to do only because of Jesus Christ, His love for me, and His sacrifice for me. Thanks be to God. Death is a call to the rest of us to live life the way we are meant to live, in Christ.

Gardening

I'm so excited this year because I've started my very own little vegetable garden. I dug up some grass in two places and went to town planting lots of yummy things.

In my front garden I planted: rosemary, sage, thyme, oregano, parsley, cilantro, chives, onions, shallots, carrots, lettuce, arugula, kale, spinach, swiss chard, and tomatoes.
In my back garden I planted zucchini, a green bell pepper, green beans, and I'll be planting honeydew in June.
I also have a strip of dirt alongside the house where I planted snap peas, lettuce, onions, chives, and shallots, although those ones are not doing as well (except the peas) because of the quality of the dirt there. I love watching all of my little plants grow!!

Oh, and we also got another sweet Basset Hound. Everyone, meet Jeffrey's new sister, Annabelle Louise!
